These classes are provided to enhance the knowledge and skills of Certified Nurse Assistants (CNAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs). CNA certificates and HHA certificates must be renewed every two (2) years. To renew, CNAs must have successfully obtained 48 hours/units of In-Service Training or Continuing Education Units (CEUs) within the most recent certification period for continued licensure as required by the Department of Public Health, HHAs are required to complete 24 hours/units of In-Service Training or Continuing Education Units within the most recent certification period.
CPR – Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers — Hospitals, Long Term Care Facilities, and other health care organizations generally require health care providers to be CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) certified. The approximate course duration is 4.5 hours. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, the student receives a CPR Card that is valid for 2 years through the end of the month in which the card was issued. Before it expires, the holder of the CPR Card needs to attend the CPR Renewal course.
